Meet the team behind every evaluation.

Jena Kravitz, Psy.D.

CA PSY21989

Dr. Jena Kravitz's path to adult and geriatric neuropsychology began with a personal loss as she watched her grandfather decline from dementia. The experience left her with a lasting curiosity about the relationship between brain function and behavior, and a quiet question about how to help others facing the same decline. That question found an answer during her senior year in college, in a practicum placement at a skilled nursing facility in San Diego. Working with older adults wasn't something she had set out to do, but she quickly found that conversations with her patients there taught her more about life than anything in a classroom. That experience became her introduction to geriatrics, and to the realization that older adults were a deeply underserved population.

At the doctoral level, she began to focus on identifying preclinical markers of dementia: ways to understand who may be at risk for a neurodegenerative disease long before symptoms appear, beyond what genetic risk alone can predict. That interest still shapes the way she approaches every evaluation today, asking not just what is happening in someone's brain right now, but what it means for their path forward.

Dr. Kravitz earned her master's and doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Pepperdine University, with pre-doctoral training in rehabilitation and neuropsychology at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Medical Center, where her work in brain injury rehabilitation sparked a lasting interest in cognitive training, an interest that today informs her work in memory and cognitive training for older adults and executive function coaching for younger adults. She completed postdoctoral training in geriatric neuropsychology at the UCLA Longevity Center, conducting comprehensive evaluations across the spectrum of memory and neurodegenerative disorders and providing evidence-based memory training. Her connection to UCLA spanned nearly two decades, from student to postdoctoral fellow to voluntary clinical faculty at the David Geffen School of Medicine. She has also held clinical staff positions at Kaiser Permanente, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Los Robles Hospital.

For nearly five years, Dr. Kravitz also served as a regular contributor on HLN's Dr. Drew On Call alongside Dr. Drew Pinsky, as well as other television appearances focusing on mental health topics. She remains available for media appearances by request.

Today, her practice spans adults and older adults, drawing on this full range of experience to evaluate concerns ranging from neurocognitive disorders and traumatic brain injury to ADHD and adult academic disabilities. Whatever brings someone to her office, her approach stays the same: thorough evaluation, honest answers, and a genuine investment in helping each patient live well with whatever they're facing.

Dr. Kravitz is licensed in California and New York. Her CV is available upon request.
